The ObCare Postpartum Balloon is a disposable, multiple lumen catheter, attached to an inflatable balloon system that is designed to provide tamponade for controlling haemorrhage from the uterus and vagina.
The ObCare Postpartum Balloon meets the BS EN ISO 20696:2018 sterile urethral catheters for single use standard. This product is latex & phthalate free.

Pear-shaped design
Unlike other Postpartum Balloons on the market, the Balloon by Pergo offers greater patient comfort, due to its pear-shaped form that has been designed to fit the uterine anatomy perfectly. Once inflated, the balloon pressurises the surface of the uterine and locks in place until the bleed subsides.

Durability
Made from 100% medical grade silicone, the Postpartum Balloon by Pergo has been tested beyond its requirements and can hold up to 4ltrs of saline solution without perforation. The super durable design features a dual lumen catheter allowing for easy monitoring of the haemorrhage until the bleed has stopped.

Reduced risk of trauma
Unlike other postpartum balloons on the market, the balloon by Pergo has no protrusion at the distal end, reducing the risk of further harm to the Uterus. The blood drainage channel is positioned inwards, allowing the passage of clotted blood to flow more effectively.
